The Book I’ve Read and Recommend

Vlog Everyday in April (VEDA) #16

I was looking for a small book to recharge my motivation and help me raise my level of productivity.  I came across the John Maxwell book, “Make Today Great”.  In this video I share the highlights of the book that resonated with me most.

Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap… and Others Don’t
  (Haper Business , 2001)

I love it when a book validates my opinions and this book did exactly that and more.  There is a distinct difference in being “good” and being “great”.  And great is the best place to be!  In Good To Great, Jim Collins challenged me to move beyond just being good at some things and great in others.  He took it father and challenged me to bring greatness to everything my hands touched.  Bringing greatness to every thing I do is about personal satisfaction – which is a great feeling and it often inspires others around me to strive for greatness too or move out of the way.  (click below to read the full review)

Die Empty: Unleash Your Best Work Every Day (Portfolio Hardcover, 2013)

Imagine that you put off for tomorrow your best work, biggest dreams, and your most passionate vision for your life and then you die?  Your best was buried with you and no one ever saw, read or experienced it.  This seems morbid but as Todd Henry discusses in his compelling best seller, Die Empty there are hundreds of thousands of great works in the cemetery. This book is a tool for people who aren’t willing to put off their most important work for another day. (click below to read the full book review)
